In Châtel, you ski astride the border. From the village, two sectors open the area — one towards Switzerland, the other towards Avoriaz — a unique cross-border feel.
The ski area
On the Super-Châtel side, you cross into Switzerland (Morgins, Champéry, the Grand Paradis); on the Pré-la-Joux and Linga side, you reach the link to Avoriaz and Morzine. The Portes du Soleil pass opens the whole cross-border area; a local Châtel pass is enough for the village sectors. The area is varied, from beginner to expert, with long links to savour.
Who it’s for
Châtel suits families as well as skiers who like to travel across the pistes: broad spaces, sunny sectors, and the chance to ski from one country to the other. The link between the village’s two sides is by shuttle or gondola; the Pré-la-Joux sector gives the most direct access to Avoriaz.

Portes du Soleil passes and ski-school lessons are booked through the area operator and local schools. Compare the local pass and the Portes du Soleil pass according to your wish to roam as far as Switzerland.
