I was born in Haute-Savoie and still live here. I know the département from the inside, in its four great faces: Lake Annecy, the Aravis, the Chablais and the Pays du Mont-Blanc, summer and winter. It’s this first-hand knowledge that I wanted to put to work on lahautesavoie.com.

How I work

Every page on the site is written as advice I’d give to someone close who’s visiting. In practice:

• I write and fact-check the content myself. The guides, destination pages and activity pages are written first-hand, not assembled from other sites.
• I field-test the itineraries and cross-check the practical information (hours, access, indicative prices) with official sources before publishing.
• I photograph some of the places featured, to show the region as it really is.
• I keep the pages up to date. Tourism moves: a place closes, a resort changes its prices, an event is cancelled. I correct it as soon as I spot it, and every page shows its last-updated date.
• The site exists in six languages (French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish), so foreign visitors find the same reliable information as locals.

I cover tourism and outdoor activities in Haute-Savoie, with a few favourite subjects:
