Mountain biking in Châtel: bike park and Portes du Soleil routes

In summer, Châtel is a Portes du Soleil mountain-biking hotspot. The Pré-la-Joux bike park and the area’s routes offer vast terrain, lift-served, between forests and pastures, on both sides of the border. From green runs for learning to technical descents, it’s one of the great MTB spots of Haute-Savoie.

Where to ride

The Châtel bike park (Pré-la-Joux/Linga sector) lines up downhill runs graded by level, features and single tracks, accessed by the “bike” lifts. Beyond, the Portes du Soleil network offers very long enduro and cross-country routes linking Châtel to Avoriaz, Morzine and Switzerland. The e-MTB widens the terrain further, towards the pastures and passes.

Booking

Bike rental (including electric), “bike” lift passes and lessons/coaching are booked through the shops, the area operator and the MTB schools. Helmet compulsory; protective gear strongly recommended in the bike park.
