The capital of reblochon
If one place embodies reblochon, it’s Thônes. The town sits at the heart of the AOP zone, surrounded by farms and pastures, and its fruitière cooperative gathers the producers’ milk to make and age the cheese. You can see the ageing and buy as close to the producer as possible. Heritage and memory
The heart of Thônes is best discovered on foot. The church of Saint-Maurice, with its onion-domed tower and gilded Baroque altarpiece, is one of the finest Baroque churches in Savoie. Around it, the arcades, lanes and museums tell the valley’s story: the Écomusée du Bois et de la Forêt (wood and forest), the Musée du Pays de Thônes et de la Résistance.
