Yvoire was born of the lake, and it’s still Lake Geneva that works its magic. Set on a peninsula between the Petit and the Grand Lac, the village offers one of the finest harbours on the lake and an ideal starting point to take to the water, cross to Switzerland or enjoy the nearby beaches.
The harbour and cruises
Yvoire’s flower-filled, photogenic medieval harbour is the village’s landing stage. From here depart panoramic cruises along the shore, and the Lake Geneva crossing to Nyon, in Switzerland, just across: a short crossing that changes shore and country. Boats also link Yvoire to Geneva, Lausanne and Thonon in season.
Around the lake
A few minutes away, the sandy beach of Excenevex, one of the rare natural sandy beaches on Lake Geneva, is ideal for family swimming. Along the shore, trails and small harbours invite strolling, facing the water and the mountains.
Booking

Good to know
Season. Cruises and crossings are in full swing from May to September; the service is reduced off-season.
Into Switzerland. For the crossing to Nyon, bring an ID; Switzerland is outside the European Union.
Swimming. The Excenevex beach, close by, is the best swimming spot in the area.
With the family. The boat crossing and the beach are a big hit with children.
