Lake Confins and the Aravis range in summer above La Clusaz
Things to do

Hiking in La Clusaz: Lake Confins, Col des Aravis and pastures

In summer, La Clusaz reveals one of the finest hiking settings in the Northern Alps: the jagged Aravis range, its pastures dotted with chalets, and Lake Confins at the foot of the cliffs. From families to seasoned walkers, everyone finds their route, from the gentle lake loop to the climb of the summits.

Where to walk

  • Lake Confins: the must-see spot, in a spectacular hollow facing the Aravis. An easy lake loop, the starting point for many hikes, and a photogenic chapel.
  • The Col des Aravis: on the border with Savoie, a balcony onto Mont Blanc, reached by car then on foot towards the ridges.
  • Beauregard: reachable by gondola in summer, a gentle plateau ideal for families, with views and pastures.
  • The Aravis summits: the Pointe Percée and the ridges, for experienced hikers.

Making the most of it

The Beauregard gondola, open in summer, lets you gain height without climbing it all on foot, ideal with children. A guided outing with a mountain leader or the guides’ office helps choose the right route, aim for the summits safely and discover the wildlife and flora of the pastures.

Booking

The trails are free to access and waymarked. For guided hikes, wildlife watching or summit climbs, contact the guides’ office and the La Clusaz tourist office. The pedestrian gondola pass is bought in the resort.
