In summer, Megève swaps skis for bikes, and it’s one of its best faces. The village sits at the foot of stunning mountain roads, on that sunny plateau overlooking the Val d’Arly with Mont Blanc as a backdrop. People come both to ride gently on an e-bike and to go hunting for the cols that made alpine cycling legendary.
The formats
- Panoramic e-bike ride: a guided day on the massif’s finest viewpoints, no need to be athletic. The assist smooths out the climbs and leaves you free to enjoy the scenery. The most accessible way to gain height facing Mont Blanc.
- Road outing, first big col: for cyclists who want to take on a real mountain col from Megève, led by a guide who paces the effort and picks the route. A chance to tick off a legendary summit safely.
Where you ride
The terrain is varied. Around the village, gentle roads and tracks link the hamlets and mountain pastures. Higher up, the local cols (la Croix, Aravis, and beyond the classics of the Pays du Mont-Blanc) draw road riders from around the world. On mountain and e-mountain bikes, the trails of the Jaillet and Mont d’Arbois sectors open in summer, some reachable by gondola.

Good to know
Who is the e-bike for? Everyone who can ride a bike. The assist lets you swallow the climbs without special training.
Season. From late spring to autumn, once the high roads are clear of snow. July–September offer the best conditions.
Level for the road. The col outings call for decent fitness; guides adapt the route and pace to the group.
Gear. Helmet required, often provided with the bike. Bring layers: it’s cool at altitude, even in summer.
