Skiing in Samoëns means access to the Grand Massif, one of the largest linked areas in the Alps: around 265 km of pistes between five resorts. A gondola rises straight from the village to the Saix plateau, from where you tip over to the whole area, without taking the car.

The Grand Massif suits everyone: gentle, playful pistes for families on the Samoëns and Morillon side, big open spaces and altitude at Flaine for strong skiers and snow reliability. The area’s variety lets you ski a week without tiring of it.
Booking

Good to know
Altitude. The village sits at 720 m; you ride the gondola up to the Saix plateau, and the altitude of Flaine (up to 2,480 m) secures snow in the heart of the season.
The Cascades run. A legendary descent not to miss in good conditions, accessible to confident intermediate skiers.
Best timing. January and February for snow, December for the atmosphere. Avoid the peak of school holidays if you can.
Getting around. The gondola leaves from the village; no need to take the car to reach the area.
